Mary Malast

Lab and Design Course Specialist

Mary Malast joined Washington University in 2012 as a lab and course design specialist. She joined the UMSL Joint Undergraduate Engineering Program in 2009 as an adjunct instructor. She is founder and co-owner of ArcSentry Technologies, a BioGenerator-supported biotechnology company that develops antimicrobial treatments for prevention and treatment of oral, oral systemic, wound, and respiratory infections.

Malast worked in aerospace engineering until 2009. She supported low observables product development, and R&D for the Lockheed Skunkworks SR-71 Blackbird and F-117 Nighthawk, the McDonnell Douglas F-18 Hornet, and the Boeing/Army team’s lead system integration for Future Combat Systems. She began her career in Aerospace as a student engineer at the not-for-profit Hughes Aircraft Company in 1984.
